As the famous Carrie Bradshaw says …
“Do you have to play games to make a relationship work?”
I have missed you all dearly. Honestly, I have been so busy, but in the back of my mind, I knew you all had been counting on me to fill you in. If it makes you feel any better, my time has been dedicated to V34, which you all will see very shortly.
How is everyone? Long time no see! I think the last time I wrote to you all was when I convinced you all to go back to your ex-boyfriends. Don’t worry I won’t assure you guys that in this column. For this article, I just wanted to share the hardships and troubles of being a long distance girl, because quite honestly, it is hard.
The Goodbye After a Long Weekend
But the thing is, after a while, you just want to be with the one that makes you laugh.
Carrie Bradshaw
Nothing is more difficult than saying goodbye after spending the weekend together. You get used to their smell, their presence, not being on your phone, in other words, you simply get used to them.
I am experiencing this firsthand and I cannot stress enough how hard it is, mainly because it is hard to express how you are feeling. There are times when I’m mad that we are separated, envious of people who see their significant other daily and experiencing those bittersweet feelings, keeping in mind that distance makes the heart grow fonder.
Anyways…
This column isn’t supposed to be a sob story about how I miss my boyfriend. To put it plainly, I am doing great, I love my alone time, and it makes me cherish the time with him more.
However, this wouldn’t be SGOS without a little hatred of relationships!
Like Carrie Bradshaw says, “Here’s to us without men!”
The world is your oyster, you can do anything you want at this period in your life. If you want your life to revolve around your significant other, do it. If you want to prioritize your individuality, do it.
You will never know who you are without your experiences. But what you should keep in mind is that no relationship ever should make you feel like you are not enough.
So here’s to one night stands, long distance relationships, silly arguments, drunk makeouts, dumb breakups. Here’s to everything that makes being young fun!
Talk later!
I hope you all enjoyed my rant this week and I promise my next feature on SGOS will actually be about you single ladies. I will see you all so soon!
Xoxo,
Dani
