Need a break from studying? We’ve got just the answer for you. Leave that little cubicle behind and trade it for a seat in the audience of Moxie: A Talent Showcase, this Saturday, April 30 from 2-6 p.m. Moxie, which will take place in the Borough Building on Allen Street, is The State Theatre’s first ever talent showcase featuring some of the area’s best talent in the community.
This isn’t just any talent show, though. In fact, it is an event to rally support for Centre Gives, a giving event designed to recognize the positive work of local nonprofits within Centre County. This May 3 and 4 will mark Centre Gives’ 5 annual 36-hour online giving event. The State Theatre is working to build a large community-based event where many non-profit organizations will be able to share their causes.
This free event will include non-stop entertainment, including a talent showcase highlighting artists in our community. The talent won’t just feature music, so you are sure to be thoroughly. If you get hungry, food trucks Food for Thought and World’s Fare Catering will be parked just outside the Borough Building for the duration of the competition. Who doesn’t love a good food truck?
So leave your books behind this Saturday afternoon at 2:00 and bring a friend or two to enjoy to enjoy The State Theatre’s Moxie! For more information about the event, click here.
