Missing Penn State? Here are some fun and simple crafts to make to help bring Happy Valley into your home!
Penn State Pillow
Do you have any old Penn State T-shirts that you don’t wear anymore? Here’s a fun way to incorporate PSU pride into your room decor with only a T-shirt!
What You’ll Need:
- Penn State T-shirt
- Scissors
- A pillow to cover
What You’ll Do:
- Find a pillow that you wouldn’t mind covering with the T-shirt.
- Lay the T-shirt out and cut out the graphic on the front.
- Make sure to cut it larger than you actually need to fit around the pillow!
- Cut out the back piece of the T-shirt so that you end up with two identically sized fabric pieces.
- Fold the two pieces together into quarters and cut a square out of the top corners.
- From here, you simply cut all the edges into strips.
- Insert the pillow between the two pieces of the T-shirt.
- Begin knotting the edge pieces around the pillow until you finish it off. Voilà! You have a brand new Penn State pillow!

PSU Scrunchies
Still have some of those T-shirt scraps left over? Here’s a great way to put them to good use rather than let them to go to waste!
What You’ll Need:
- The rest of the T-shirt from the above craft or blue and white fabric
- Scissors
- Pins
- Elastic
- Safety pin
- Needle and thread
What You’ll Do:
- Cut three 1/2 x 22-inch strips from the fabric.
- Fold it lengthwise. (Make sure it’s inside out!)
- Sew along the long edge.
- Flip the fabric “tube” you have made so that it is right-side out.
- Cut your elastic to 9 inches.
- Pin the safety pin to one end of the elastic. Using the safety pin to make it easier, thread the elastic through the tube.
- Once threaded, knot both ends of the elastic.
- Place the two ends of the fabric tube together and sew them up around the knot.
- You now have a homemade Penn State scrunchie!
