What is a better way to spend a Thursday afternoon than downing wings all in the name of philanthropy? You can see if you have what it takes to be “King of The Wing” on March 24 at the Alpha Gamma Rho house from 4-7 p.m.
Alpha Delta Pi is partnering with Alpha Gamma Rho for their second wing-eating competition benefitting Ronald McDonald House Charities and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Teams of four will compete to see who can finish ten wings the fastest. The first teammate will eat four BBQ wings and must throw four “pop tabs”, the aluminum rings on food and beverage cans, successfully into a bucket before the next teammate can begin. The second will eat three spicier wings and have to throw 3 pop tabs; the third will eat 2 spicier wings and have to throw 2 pop tabs. The fourth teammate only has to eat one wing, which is the spiciest wing that Wings Over offers, and then successfully throw one pop tab into the bucket.
The team that wins the overall bracket will be crowned “King of the Wing” and they will receive 10% of the event proceeds donated to the philanthropy of their choice.
Even if you aren’t interested in competing, you can still come and pay $8 for a plate of wings and a drink!
“It’s going to be a really fun event with food, music and the thrill of watching a head to head competition go down. Even better, this event isn’t just for fun, all of the money raised is going to help people who really need it. Who doesn’t love that?” says Kiarra Powell, ADPi’s philanthropy chair.
If you are interested in signing up for a team, fill out this form and bring $50.00 cash or check, made out to ‘Alpha Delta Pi Foundation,’ and don’t forget ten pop tabs to throw during the event!
